Batra achieved international acclaim for writing and directing The Lunchbox (2013), starring Nimrat Kaur and the late, great Irrfan Khan, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language.
Batra has since gone on to direct English-language films The Sense of an Ending (2017), starring Jim Broadbent and Charlotte Rampling, and Our Souls at Night (2017), which starred Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in their fourth on-screen collaboration. Batra returned to India to direct the Photograph (2019), a Hindi-language romance which had its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
We welcome your questions for Ritesh Batra - please write them below or send them to us on our Instagram or Facebook pages! If you want to see some of Batra's work, Our Soul's at Night and Photograph are currently available to watch on Netflix.
We look forward to seeing you there!
