One of the largest events in FilmSoc, the 48-Hour Film Challenge, returns for Term 2!
Here is what you need to know:
Those who sign up (membership not required) will be put into a team
A prompt and a prop will be announced.
Based on the prompt, the film will be shot, edited, and screened for all members, within 48 hours!
The following event runs on the weekend of: 20/1 - 22/1/23, where you and your team will produce a short film (under 8 minutes) in 48 hours!
Candidates have the option to list other candidates who they want to be pooled with, but it should be known that one of the aims of the 48hr film challenge is to help candidates meet new people and make friends. We’ll endeavor to put you on the team with the people you request, but we can’t guarantee it.
Additionally, teams of less than 4 will be made up by randomly selected members. And if you’re skeptical that being given random teammates won’t be good… know that the winning teams from the last three years were all completely random teams.
The winner will be announced after the screening of all of the films on Sunday evening (22/1). As their prize, winners will receive a FREE production membership and a FilmSoc tote bag!
If you want to see what a winning 48hr challenge entry looks like, here are the winners from 2021, 2020 and 2019.
Good luck and see you on Friday 18:00, Friday the 20th of January, at Harrie Massey
