Every year FilmSoc broadcasts the London varsity series, a series of sports matches between age-old rivals UCL and KCL, this year taking place across the 16th - 20th March.
We’re already planning for a much larger Varsity broadcast this year, which means we’re assembling a crew who will create a series of short “featurette” style videos that will be broadcast during half time and also used as part of the wider advertising for the series run by the Students Union.
We plan to make two featurettes specifically focussed on each of the main sporting events (American Football and Rugby), and then a general one that will act as promo for Varsity as a whole. We’re aiming to produce something inspired by the sort of high-end adverts you might catch on TV, so we’re really looking to inject some creativity into this - we’re open to all ideas! This is your chance to transform a simple brief into something entertaining and engaging to watch - perfect for your portfolio if you’re going to be starting out freelancing in the industry after graduation.

You can indicate on the application form if you would prefer to be involved with the general promo or sports-specific promo featurettes.
For the two sports-specific featurettes, each role will require your availability on:
- For the American football featurette: Sunday 29/01/23 (13:00 start) OR Sunday 05/02/23 (13:00 start)
- For the rugby featurette: Women’s ad Men’s: Wednesday 01/02/22 (afternoon)
