The Festival Director role is a brilliant opportunity to get involved with one of the biggest events on the FilmSoc calendar. Here’s a little bit more detail:
Description: The festival director is the heart of the FOMI team. Responsible for overseeing other team members and making sure that the festival is well executed, this is no small role. That being said, it is probably one of the most rewarding roles you can take in FilmSoc as a whole. For a few days in June, you’re in complete control of the Bloomsbury Theatre, and it’s your job to make the best commercial student film festival possible, complete with famous guests, screenings, short film competitions, panels and much, much more.
Requirements: This role requires excellent organizational skills and a pre-established ability to lead a team. You need to be able to think on your feet when things go wrong and manage deadlines within the team. Although the festival might seem distant right now, planning such a large-scale event takes a lot of time and commitment, and that time very quickly disappears in the run-up to the event.
