DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY BIDS (Deadline: Thursday 19th of May @ 23:59)
Directors of photography are responsible for the photographic heart of a production, working with the director to figure out the look and feel of a film through lighting, framing and camera movement. You will most likely be the one behind the camera at most points of the day.
Please Submit a statement before midnight on Thursday 19th of May (1 side A4 max.) outlining any relevant experience (always good but not necessary) and why you think you should be chosen as this term film’s DoP. If you have a portfolio / showreel then please include this in the email too.
All bids are to be emailed to uclfilmsociety@gmail.com and bryn.chiappe@hotmail.com before the deadline.
PERSONAL STATEMENT GUIDELINES:
What are the qualities that make a good DoP? Please give examples of situations in the past where you have demonstrated these qualities.
Do you have previous experience in making films? If so, please tell us a bit more about your experience (does not necessarily have to have been as DoP).
Crew call for getting involved in any roles outside of director/writer/producer/DoP will be announced soon! Please consider getting involved in this project - it’s open to all, regardless of experience.
ASSISTANT CAMERA BIDS
We will consider all DoP applicants for the AC roles too. Please specify in the email if you would like to only be considered for the DoP position.
Applying for the AC roles would be a great option for those who feel they may lack the experience to feel comfortable being DoP on the project. Being an AC is still a very involved role and a fantastic opportunity to learn your way around the 16mm camera which we’ll be using.
