On Tuesday, 9 March, we are delighted to welcome celebrated film-editor and UoY Music Alum, Joe Walker, to discuss his extraordinary career and experience in the world of film-making.
Known for his exemplary work on films such as Sicario, 12 Years a Slave, Arrival and Blade Runner 20149**, Joe graduated with a degree in Classical Composing from our Music department in 1984, and would be delighted to answer any questions interested audience members may have about his career path, experiences post-university, or any of his partnerships and portfolio of work.
As a public-facing event, we’d be absolutely delighted if interested and fellow film enthusiasts alike were able to join us for Joe’s discussion, and if we were able to offer some insight into a fascinating career or degree path audience members may not have considered before.
The event will be hosted on Zoom Webinar and so audience members will be muted (both camera and audio) throughout. There will be a chance to ask questions, using a Q&A text box and we hope to be able to answer as many of these as possible on the night.
The event is free and tickets can be booked here. Once you have made a booking, you will be emailed a Zoom link a couple of days before the event, and again, an hour before. The event will also be available afterwards to watch again on our York Ideas YouTube channel here.
