Sign up to take part in this academic year’s first, documentary filmmaking challenge‼
No membership is required!
We are forced to stay apart and study from different parts of the world right now, but our distance also provides an opportunity for us to produce an excellent variety of documentaries from locations across the globe!
…this is exactly what the Quarantine Documentary Challenge encourages us to do.
Here’s how it works. On Friday 5th February, at 7pm, we will announce a subject that your documentary should be about. This will be accessible enough for everyone to research and shoot about, no matter where they are based – without having to leave their local area. You will then have exactly 1 week to research about this theme and then plan, shoot, and edit your documentary film! It should roughly be between 5–15 minutes.
You must send the documentaries to us by a week on midnight (00:00 Saturday 13th February). We will then screen the documentaries, a small panel of committee members will judge, a winner will be selected, and a prize will be gifted!
In accordance with COVID regulations, you must take part as one household. Unfortunately, you will also not be able to rent equipment. However, part of the challenge and what will hopefully make it more fun is making do with limited resources – maybe even with our phones. We are NOT looking for visual or general production quality so much as creativity in presentation, clarity & accuracy of information, and how well you’ve stuck to the assigned theme.
There is NO FILMMAKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, only enthusiasm and passion!
Sign up by filling the form below before 23:59 on Thursday 4th February* and join for an exciting, insightful, and creative week!
*if you’ve missed this deadline and still want to take part, message me!
Do also get in touch on Facebook (Cagri Ustaoglu) or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org), should you have any other questions.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!
